Step Out of the Box With These 7 Fall & Winter Boot Styles
Happy Friday! Today’s ensemble is the result of a prompting by Ije over at Klassy Kinks. This week, she participated in ModCloth‘s Uniquely You Challenge where she was asked to style a specific piece from their collection using up to seven items also sold by ModCloth. Ije suggested we take the dress and style it to our liking. Of course, I had to take her up on that but I’d style this Bea & Dot Palette on Parade Dress using pieces from some of my other favorite retailers. Hey, I’M not doing the challenge LOL! Not yet anyways… Bea Dot shirt dress / H M denim jacket / Combat boots / Forever 21 tote bag / ALDO gold ring / Infinity scarf / Cutout Craze Geo Earrings This shirt dress is too adorable. I love the retro shape and you can go either way with it style-wise. I decided to go casual by first adding a…

Fashion Friday: How to Style a Black Skirt
The black skirt. A staple in the closets of many for their versatility and functionality. To continue this love affair I have with H&M’s Spring offerings, I’m giving you two ways to style my absolute favorite item of my top ten– the Crinkled Skirt– using a host of items from the line. On the left, we have a very work appropriate getup complete with a smart drape-front chiffon blouse, faux snakeskin ankle-strap pumps and a large purse fit for all your personal and work essentials. Add a cute statement ring and drop earrings for some flair. To our right, the chill outfit. Head to date night or some fun with the girls in this funky ensemble. Denim shirts always make me happy. 🙂 Slap a stretchy tank underneath, roll up those sleeves and you’re good to go. An interesting statement necklace, a simple cognac-colored handbag and platform booties bring it all together.…

Natural Fashionista: Jessica P.
I first came across this beauty on Instagram back in November and right away, she had my attention! Not only was she a fierce naturalista but as I scrolled through her page, I realized she had it on LOCK in the fashion department. After numerous photo reposts and features on my IG page, I decided it was time I introduce her to you, my gorgeous readers. After all, natural hair & fashion are what ToBNatural is all about, right? Meet Jessica… How long ago did you go natural? Why? -I went natural 2/15/11. My last relaxer was 12/29/10. Initially I wanted to transition for a year, but I was too impatient and tired of the permed hair. So I big chopped and only had a half of inch of hair on my head. I loved it! Why do you love being natural? Have there been any challenges along the way? -The best…

2014 Golden Globe Awards: My Top Three Fashion Picks
While I didn’t catch E! News’ Golden Globes red carpet coverage from its start, I was confident by its end that I had seen enough to establish my top looks of the night. To be fair, I scanned Twitter, Instagram and all that good stuff for possible toppers but alas, my top three remained. Here they are… 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o hit the red carpet with a gorgeous, floor-length Ralph Lauren number featuring an off-the-shoulder cape. Amazingly classy. She paired the gown with red Paul Andrew shoes to complete the monochromatic look and subtle Fred Leighton jewelry. Oh, and that side-parted blown out TWA is cute too! 😉 What a beauty. Coming in at a verrrryyy close second is Sofia Vergara in a black Zac Posen gown accented by a beautiful turquoise floral statement necklace by Lorraine Schwartz- perfect touch. I absolutely adore the classic silhouette of this dress. Vergara was too cute as…

Fashion Friday: Wedding Style – Velvet Blazer + Balloon Skirt
Soooo… remember how I bought that dress for my cousin’s wedding last month and how it was a fail? Well, I found something else just in time! Here’s what I ended up with. Ya liiiike? 😉 With limited time AND funds, my sister and I made a thrift shop run to find ‘fits for this wedding. I decided to finally hit up a spot in Brooklyn that style & natural hair vlogger Keisha G. aka Ahsiek1118 raves about. With many of her thrifted finds going for under $10 per item, I was confident I’d find something nice for dirt cheap. I’ll do a separate post on all of the ridiculous deals I found but for now, let’s concentrate on this skirt. I got this beautiful bubble skirt for the low, low price of $4!! That’s no typo, you read right… F-O-U-R DOLLARS! It was slightly roomy in the waist so ma dukes…
