Step Out of the Box With These 7 Fall & Winter Boot Styles
Happy Tuesday y’all! In this edition of Hair Tip Tuesday, we’re briefly exploring the proper uses of certain products for moisturizing your hair versus what you might use to seal. What is Moisturizing? Some synonyms for moisturize are dampen, drench and saturate… words associated with water. Simply put, to moisturize means “to make wet”. Therefore, true moisture comes from either water itself or products that are water-based. You’ll know if your product is water-based if the very first ingredient is good ole H2O. Many leave-in conditioners have this makeup and are great follow-ups to your wash session. Aloe vera juice has also proven to be an effective moisturizer. p.s. Don’t neglect moisturizing your hair from within by drinking lots of water! Sealing… What’s That? Let’s be clear: oils and butters DO NOT moisturize your hair. These are sealants and which are most effective if used while the hair is slightly…

I was so excited when I was asked by fellow blogger and 4C Hair Chick contributor Monet of Curls and Mo to be interviewed for the popular natural hair site. ToBNatural 6K Giveaway Prize #4: Li Li’s Creations Ankara Skirt
Just in time for Fashion Friday is the fourth and final prize for the ToBNatural 6K Instagram follower giveaway… this beeaaautiful Ascension Ankara Maxi Skirt from Li Li’s Creations! I absolutely love the way Christie of Living Simplistically styled it with a chambray button-up, statement necklace and clutch. I met designer Malacia Anderson last June during an affair at Khamit Kinks Salon while hitting the natural hair event circuit. She donned the cutest green tulle skirt which I learned shortly after exchanging pleasantries that she made herself! Every time we crossed paths, she was decked out in one of her amazing designs. As the months went on, Li Li’s Creations began to really take flight, especially with the African Ankara print trend being so heavy right now. Her skirts, jumpers, and creative tees are in high demand but YOU can win her TOP SELLING skirt right here! After reposting the…

Lupita Nyong’o: PEOPLE’S Most Beautiful!
So excited that my girl (yes, MY girl!) Lupita has snagged the top spot on People Magazine’s annual list of Most Beautiful folks… well, celebs. Sure, the argument CAN be made that, in a world of around 8 billion (?), there’s gotta be someone more beautiful than all 50 on this list. Hey, you may even know of one such individual personally. But, let’s be real… they gotta go by people known by most of the world and, well, those people are celebs, right? Back to our story. 🙂 Are we at all surprised that the chocolate red carpet killa has accomplished this? I mean, look at her! She stole our hearts and slayed the red carpet during award season, acquired the Lancôme deal and now this. This woman is just doing it all and with such style, grace and humility, which is no wonder how she claimed the number…

Natural Fashionista: Ebony
Here’s another fabulous young lady who I met on the socials via a mutual friend. Her style is just amazing and seemingly effortless. SHE DOPE! 🙂 I had to share the dopeness with you all. Here she is… I’m Ebony Green-Ellis, I work in the production department of a thrift store, and I’m a Cali/L.A. girl! How long have you been wearing your hair in its natural state and what made you take that step? I’ve been natural for about 13 years. I used to have middle of my back length straightened hair which I was very attached to and almost defined my beauty through. My last year of high school, it began to break and so did my fragile self-esteem. That same year, I met a kindred spirit of a friend. We both wrote poetry, shopped at thrift stores, and enjoyed music no one else around us did at…
