Whether you plan a head wrap as part of your outfit or you snatch one up in an attempt to right a hairdo gone wrong, they’re a great way to protect your hair while still looking fierce! These days we’re grabbing everything from bright and bold Ankara print fabric to simple solids and donning fancy headdresses on just about any occasion. Interviewer: Do you like your hair? Camilla: No Ugh! Sadly, this is the story for many of our young curly and kinky-haired girls. Is there any way to change the perception of naturally textured hair for these little beauties? #LoveYourCurls, the latest initiative by Dove, aims to do just that. The bottom line: Love your curls and they will too! When this video came up in my Facebook feed the other day, I watched immediately and knew I just HAD to share! It may be the preggo hormones (LOL!) but it had me tearing up. Simple beautiful! Watch and see if you don’t feel the same… What stood out to me is that a full range of curls are represented from loose waves to tightly-coiled kinks. “Once again, it’s on!” Last night’s 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards brought out the naturalistas in a big way! Red carpet slayer Lupita Nyong’o and stylist Micaela Erlanger have hit another one outta the park with this GORG-em-OUS Elie Saab gown. Her braided updo more than compliments this bold print and that skin is as radiant as ever! Within no time, fashion illustrator Josefina Fernandez posted this epicness to Instagram… Viola Davis rocked a fro to top off her white halter Max Mara gown and the natural hair enthusiasts were loving it… me included, of course! Might this be a twist-out… braid-out? *shrugs* I pity the fool who STILL says naturally kinky hair can’t be classy!
