Fashion Friday: Blue Floral Skirt + Jeweled Sandals
We took a little trip to Connecticut a couple Saturdays ago to surprise our friend, a mom-to-be, at Beardsley Park in Bridgeport. It can be risky to plan an outdoor gathering but the weather definitely cooperated during this baby shower. It was a GORGEOUS day! It was also HOT so I opted for this lightweight, blue floral skirt that I bought from the same thrift store as this one for a mere four bucks. Having recently gone through my large collection of tees, I remembered that I might have one that would go perfectly with it. I was right. 🙂 Skirt – Brooklyn Industries (thrifted) | Sandals – Target | Tee – Dr. Jays | Shades – Steve Madden (Daffy’s) Despite the heat, I felt pretty comfy in this getup and thoroughly appreciated that the skirt is lined with cotton… sweet! Black & White Striped Tee + “Peter Pan” Skirt
Thursday. It was such a beautiful day. I felt like taking a walk… so we did. Gotta love the hubster! We took a leisurely stroll down Flatbush Avenue, walking along Prospect Park. We noticed the fountain at Grand Army Plaza was on for the summer so, instead of walking around, we walked right on through and took in all its beauty. These moments are so necessary. And so began our walk over to Fifth Ave to Brooklyn Crepe and Juice where we both enjoyed 24 ounces of mango/peach/strawberry deliciousness. It was a hot one so it really hit the spot! There’s nothing like fresh ingredients. So refreshing. I don’t normally wear these two pieces together. I’d usually…

Month In Review: My February Fashion
February was a crazy busy month with event after exciting event! Between New York Fashion Week, launch parties and soirées, I was definitely a girl on the move and wanted to look good doing it! Take a look at my eclectic style as I made my way around the city… This whirlwind of a month started with the Optimum Amla Legend Media Launch event with special guest Tracee Ellis Ross. I opted for a retro look complete with an almost completely shrunken ‘fro and vintage secretary blouse. To kick off NYFW, I stopped by the Required Flare Trunk Show for which I donned a rather preppy ensemble and a stretched-out fro. Get outfit deets and see how you can get the look here! That Saturday was the Know Your Roots event at Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem. Here’s an example of perking up your basics! I kept it vanilla with the outfit but…
