Last month, I showed a little love for the TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro). This one’s for team #bighairdontcare. From big, blown-out coifs to naturally colossal coils, full, fluffy fros make us gasp, swoon and most times just stare in awe! Ebony Clark, like many of us, “started from the bottom” with a Big Chop and worked her way to the lovely long mane you see here after years of care. Results WILL vary (as far as terminal length and rate of growth) but she is truly the poster child for what can be achieved through healthy hair care practices. I leave you with her own encouraging words to her Instagram followers a couple months ago upon posting this photo… “I can PROMISE you that if you stick with it and take care of your hair, with time you’ll reach your goals… Be/Stay encouraged! ♥” xoxo Toia B.
I just wanted to pop in and give a little love to the ladies who are #teamtwa, #shorthairdontcare, or any other witty hashtag you can come up with. Whether you’ve just done your big chop (WELCOME!) or you’re a natural hair vet who simply loves the convenience of a cropped ‘do, we see you! ♥ I hope this serves as a bit of inspiration to those who are contemplating the big chop as well as those of you who are still in this state aching for the day to be able to pull your hair up in a pony. Patience my darlings. Rock that mini fro with confidence! You’re beautiful. 😉 xoxo Toia B.

This style has been around for quite a bit but boy has my Instagram feed been inundated by this protective style! Oh, oh… don’t get me wrong. I LOVE it (hence the title). I’m just sayin’, it has definitely become the go-to style for many especially during vacation season and in the spirit of just plain ole not-wanting-to-have-to-do-your-hair-ness. You GO girls… I’ll be joining you very soon! The do was made popular by Finger Comber, a company which manufactures extremely natural-looking hair units and weaves as well as loose hair such as what’s used for Havana Twists. Many naturals have found a way to save a few bucks and use Marley hair to achieve a similar look. You’ll often see the terms “Havana Twists” and “Marley Twists” used interchangeably but technically, it all boils down to the type of hair that’s used. Either way, it’s about to be on and…
