This past Sunday, April 6th, Renae Bluitt, founder of Crush Media, celebrated the five year anniversary of her amazing blog In Her Shoes at DUMBO’s Galapagos Art Space with “The Brains & Beauties Behind the Brands II”. Having missed the first installment of Beauties & Brains, I jumped at the chance to be a part of round two! The hot ticket event included signature cupcakes courtesy of Tipsy Tasty plus the debut of the In Her Shoes Marketplace where we had an opportunity to shop some of the brands that have been featured on the blog. On June 25th, up and coming female entrepreneurs gathered at Polish Bar of Brooklyn for Cocktails & Connections, a beauty industry mixer where they would be able to network and learn from the success stories of some of NY’s top beauty mavens. Although experiencing record temps in NYC there was nothing but positivity in the room. Speaking of positivity, a portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to Petals-N-Belles, a non-profit organization headed by Damali Elliott which is committed to empowering young girls in various areas of life… how cool is that?!
