Fall has been around for all of a week and already, I've seen folks walking around with full-on cold weather wear. Well, you can't get me to put my summer pieces away that quickly! Here's how I easily transition them into the fall.

On an unseasonably warm November day, I made my way over to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade to help shoot some footage with Natasha of Mane Moves TV and Brooklyn Independent Media (deets on that to come). Of course, I had to represent for the BK! It took me about two full weeks to come to grips with the fact that fall was here… I did NOT wanna let go of summer! October 3rd was probably the first day I actually accepted the change and donned an entire outfit of ‘official’ fall wear, complete with a heavy-ish blazer and riding boots. It’s really, like… an autumn uniform. I trekked over to Harlem’s Lenox Coffee to chat with Ijeoma of Klassy Kinks and did a little tablet photo shoot afterwards… what happens when you leave the SD card for your DSLR at home! Happy Friday! Today’s ensemble is the result of a prompting by Ije over at Klassy Kinks. This week, she participated in ModCloth‘s Uniquely You Challenge where she was asked to style a specific piece from their collection using up to seven items also sold by ModCloth. Ije suggested we take the dress and style it to our liking. While I hate to say goodbye to Summer, I welcome fashion’s earth tones {oh, and bangin’ boots!!} with open arms! Summer may be gone but that doesn’t meant you have to bury those shorts just yet. After searching through a few of my favorite stores on the interwebs, I found this slick pair of cuffed shorts from UNIQLO. Check out those clean lines! Just slip on a cute pair of tights like these and you’re ready to brave the chill. H&M never disappoints! This easy-going, flowy viscose top in teal {my favorite color of late} serves as the perfect complement to the camel-hued shorts.
