Hey my peoples! Welp, after all the back and forth about what I was gonna do with this hair of mine, I finally settled on doing Marley Twists and I am SO excited to start styling these babies! I have a how-to video on the way but I know some of you may have some questions about the process so I’ve put this together for ya… How long did it take you? Well, I had a whole lot goin’ on so it wound up taking parts of two days. Hair used: Afro Marley Braid by Janet Collection Number of packs: Hard to say. I bought three fresh packs of hair but also washed & reused some leftover hair that I’ve had for a while which I’ve used for updos as well as my last set of twists. The old hair would probably make up about four packs so I’d say…
This style has been around for quite a bit but boy has my Instagram feed been inundated by this protective style! Oh, oh… don’t get me wrong. I LOVE it (hence the title). SHRINKAGE! For many naturals, that’s almost a curse word (LOL!) to the point where hair care companies have begun to market products promising to minimize this… “problem”. It is what it is. *shrug* I get that we want to show off our true length, totally understandable. I, personally, don’t stress it too much. I embrace it and just let this hair do what it do. Rewind to last month. I had a week full of events which included traveling to and from Philly in a day, getting home late, then up bright and early in the A.M. for the Blogging While Brown conference.
