Fashion Friday: Casual Chic w/ ModCloth

Happy Friday! Today’s ensemble is the result of a prompting by Ije over at Klassy Kinks. This week, she participated in ModCloth‘s Uniquely You Challenge where she was asked to style a specific piece from their collection using up to seven items also sold by ModCloth. Ije suggested we take the dress and style it to our liking. Of course, I had to take her up on that but I’d style this Bea & Dot Palette on Parade Dress using pieces from some of my other favorite retailers. Hey, I’M not doing the challenge LOL! Not yet anyways… Bea Dot shirt dress / H M denim jacket / Combat boots / Forever 21 tote bag / ALDO gold ring / Infinity scarf / Cutout Craze Geo Earrings This shirt dress is too adorable. I love the retro shape and you can go either way with it style-wise. I decided to go casual by first adding a…

Breakage, on the other hand, is the result of damage. Dryness, over-manipulation, excessive heat-styling, etc. can all be causes of damage. The tips I’ve listed here…

My Style: Braid-out on a Blow-out

My go-to for super big hair, guaranteed to give me bounce and volume all in one style is the dual method braid-out on a blow-out. Woooop! The Process Starting with freshly washed hair which was divided into about eight sections, I applied my favorite leave-in conditioner, Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia. I then added a little more than a quarter-size amount of grapeseed oil to each section just before grabbing the blow dryer. No need to slather a ton of oil onto your hair. This not only seals in the moisture but also acts as a heat protectant. I divide each section in half to make the job a little easier and to keep from over-drying by applying heat for too long. The smaller sections will usually be dry after only a few passes. My goal is just to dry and stretch the hair, not make it bone straight. I always set my dryer on…
