Step Out of the Box With These 7 Fall & Winter Boot Styles
It was a rather lazy Tuesday as I was still trying to rest up after a VERY busy two weeks which included going back to work after a year and a half (YAY ME!) while putting the finishing touches on my event on the 15th and THEN an exciting weekend that followed. Woosh! A feeling for some Dallas BBQ grub… aaannnd one of their luscious frozen dranks, Texas size of course, suddenly came over me. And wuddyaknow? Hubby was all for it! We got dressed quickfast and head to Downtown Brooklyn. After filling my belly, I just had to rep for my girl Toni G., creator of the trendy clothing brand Haus of Swag, and snap a couple pics. You may recall that I rocked another one of her creations to an Allen Stone concert last year. Yeah… I own quite a few HoS originals. What can I say? Her…

Black & White Striped Tee + “Peter Pan” Skirt
Thursday. It was such a beautiful day. I felt like taking a walk… so we did. Gotta love the hubster! We took a leisurely stroll down Flatbush Avenue, walking along Prospect Park. We noticed the fountain at Grand Army Plaza was on for the summer so, instead of walking around, we walked right on through and took in all its beauty. These moments are so necessary. After a few pics and some video, we kept right on walking. Once we hit Park Slope, Seventh Ave to be exact, hubs had a hankering for a smoothie and quickly Googled the nearest shop. And so began our walk over to Fifth Ave to Brooklyn Crepe and Juice where we both enjoyed 24 ounces of mango/peach/strawberry deliciousness. It was a hot one so it really hit the spot! There’s nothing like fresh ingredients. So refreshing. I don’t normally wear these two pieces together. I’d usually…

Hair Tip Tuesday: Everything Ain’t for Everybody!
…in my effort to get the point across, you will excuse the poor grammar in the title. LOL! I really could just stop at the title, but I feel the need to expound just a bit. So, here’s the thing girls. Everyone’s hair is different. I’m not just speaking in terms of mere appearance. The fact that there are different types of hair- straight, curly, coily, etc- is obvious. To help you grasp what I mean, I’ll insert an analogy from hair care pro Simeko Watkins-Hartley that explains it clearly. “Your hair is like your fingerprint. No two are exactly the same.” YES! The sheer makeup of hair differs from person to person. You may be at the point in your journey where you realize that even the strands of hair on your own head aren’t the same all over! That being the case, you cannot jump on every product…

Natural Fashionista: Cynthia
How I first came across THIS fashionista, I couldn’t even tell you. All I know is… she’s wussup! She is a beautiful, Cameroon-born attorney who currently resides in Queens, NY, cooking things up on her popular fashion and lifestyle blog Simply Cyn. While the site offers a wide range of her favorite things- food, photography, travel- there is no doubt that she has a penchant for all things fashionable. Meet Cynthia. How long have you been wearing your hair in its natural state and what made you take that step? I never really kept count , cos I transitioned. But I think I’m in the 4 year range about now. My hair relaxed was very weak, breaking and falling. I just wanted my hair to be stronger and healthier. What do you love most about having natural hair? What challenges have you faced along the way? I love its versatility.…
