Our resident natural hair care professional Simeko Watkins-Hartley answers… “My hair is very healthy and I don’t have split ends, but it’s the same length for the last 6 months. What’s up with that?” OK… so you’ve done everything to retain the length of your hair: protective styles, proper moisturization, protein treatments & regular trims and still, your hair is at the same length it was several months ago. “What’s up with that” you ask?! If you’ve done everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) externally you possibly can to care for your hair and it still seems to be at the same length, then maybe you’ve reached your MTL (Maximum Terminal Length) or in other words… your hair growth limit. Now, let me ask you this: have you ever wondered why your eyebrow hair never grows past a certain length? Probably not, because it’s just eyebrow hair! Well, much like our eyebrow hair,…
I just wanted to pop in and give a little love to the ladies who are #teamtwa, #shorthairdontcare, or any other witty hashtag you can come up with. Whether you’ve just done your big chop (WELCOME!) or you’re a natural hair vet who simply loves the convenience of a cropped ‘do, we see you! ♥ I hope this serves as a bit of inspiration to those who are contemplating the big chop as well as those of you who are still in this state aching for the day to be able to pull your hair up in a pony. Patience my darlings. Rock that mini fro with confidence! You’re beautiful. 😉 xoxo Toia B.

Cool water helps to seal the cuticles which aids in making the hair smoother and shinier. 2. Treat your hair to an…
While I hate to say goodbye to Summer, I welcome fashion’s earth tones {oh, and bangin’ boots!!} with open arms! Summer may be gone but that doesn’t meant you have to bury those shorts just yet. After searching through a few of my favorite stores on the interwebs, I found this slick pair of cuffed shorts from UNIQLO. Check out those clean lines! Just slip on a cute pair of tights like these and you’re ready to brave the chill. H&M never disappoints! This easy-going, flowy viscose top in teal {my favorite color of late} serves as the perfect complement to the camel-hued shorts. Both blend right in with these amazing burgundy knee-high boots, also from H&M! And how ’bout this Danielle Nicole purse?? O_O HOLLA! For accessories, I went bold with a gold fringed bib necklace and then scaled things down with simple antique-y earrings from ALDO. The blush-toned scarf…
