How to: Frohawk on Kinky Natural Hair
NEXT
I've stretched this twist-out for as long as I could, so it's time to do a little something different! let's grab some tools & a styler to get started: brush, side combs & edge control.
NEXT
starting with your edge control of choice, apply a bit at a time to the sides of the hair and the very edges. lightly smooth onto the hair.
NEXT
smooth one side with the styling brush, laying the hair the way you like & ensuring all of the edge control is brushed in nicely. pulling the hair toward the center, insert a side comb to secure.
NEXT
let's watch that in slow-mo... laying the side comb flat, I like to smooth the hair with it first. then stopping in line with the first comb, insert close to the scalp to make sure it stays secure.
NEXT
insert a third comb, going in line with the shape of the head. more combs can be added all the way down the back of the head, but I like to stop here.
NEXT
now repeat the process on the other side, being sure to match the other side as best as possible so that the style will look even when viewed from the front.
NEXT
since the front of my hair is a bit more stretched than the rest, I apply a bit of water to help it shrink so that it'll sit better to suit the look I'm going for.
NEXT
continue to spray water as needed & make any other adjustments until the hair is doing what you want. the BEAUTY of this style is that it's meant to be "perfectly imperfect". it's ok if every hair isn't in place, it just needs to have the overall shape.

and now that I'm satisfied with the final look, I'm gonna do a little dance!
