for best results, I'm starting off by cleansing & conditioning my hair. I work in sections to make sure my kinky hair doesn't get too tangled up.

I like to finger detangle the hair after massaging my scalp. once I'm done with a section, I twist it & move on to the next. after rinsing, I apply my conditioner.

I work the conditioner into the hair, paying special attention to the ends as they tend to be the driest. detangle with a brush for even distribution of the product.

after the leave-in conditioner, I layer on shea butter to seal the moisture, detangle & blow dry. I then apply setting lotion from root to tip for hold & shine.

Technique
divide section in half, twist taut all the way to the ends without "borrowing" hair.

here's a good look at my blow drying process after the section has been moisturized.

to complete this section, I apply the setting lotion, brush through to detangle & evenly distribute the product and twist. brush or comb the ends for best results.

the next day or whenever hair is dry, gently unravel the twists. shake to help the hair "settle". separate the hair where it naturally separates depending on your desired look & volume.

define your part if you like and apply a little edge control to keep the fly-aways down. use a pick at the roots to close any gaps & fluff the hair for more volume.

to allow the hair to fall into place naturally. "zhuzh" it up a bit as needed and you're all done! DANCE if you're feelin cute!
