Everything I Bought From Amazon During Lockdown

Welp, COVID-19 aka “the ‘Rona” really threw us all for a loop near the top of the year and 2020 was forever changed! We’ve had to adjust to a “new normal” and switch up the way we do just the simplest things. While the situation is horrible, I’m thankful that it is 2020 and we have access to some conveniences like online shopping, especially Amazon! We’ve been using Amazon for years but it has really come through for us during this time. So here’s (almost) everything I bought from Amazon during lockdown!

Groceries

Sooo… self-explanatory, right? LOL! We have to eat, so the main thing we bought from Amazon during lockdown was FOOD! In trying to limit our person-to-person contact as much as possible, we have been making all the use of our Amazon Prime membership buy having our groceries delivered! We were already using Amazon Fresh pre-COVID and man are we happy we were! It’s been a huge help.

At the start of lockdown, securing a delivery time was SUPER hard – naturally – so we had no choice but to make trips to the supermarket. But after about a month in and the panic died down some, we tried again and it’s been much easier. Anything to lessen our time outside… we not playin with ‘Rona!

Health & Beauty

Turmeric Tea

Short story.

I discovered this gem around the end of last year when my chronic back issues had gotten unbearable. I had heard of turmeric before, but didn’t realize all its benefits until I did some research on natural remedies for my problem (turmeric is great for inflammation). While on a trip to Dutch Country PA, I could barely stand up straight or walk, so I was desperate for an immediate remedy. I found this Turmeric & Ginger tea at a local market and brewed a cup at a diner immediately! When I got back home, I put in an order for 6 boxes!

Just so happens that turmeric and ginger are also great immunity boosters! So, again, I was somewhat prepared when COVID arrived, being able to take preventative measures to help keep me and the hubster healthy.

Vitamins

Chile! It’s crazy that it took a global pandemic for me to remember my vitamins but here we are! I used the subscription option on these Centrum One-a-Day Vitamins so they could be sent automaticcaly (because… forgetful!) and was still backed up a couple bottles. Happy to say that I’ve missed less than a handful of days in these six months!

Toiletries

Some other main things we bought from Amazon during lockdown were grooming essentials! Ya girl stocked up on multipacks of toothpaste for us and Micah as well as toothbrushes because, let’s face it… we gon’ be here til 2025! LOL! I grabbed my favorite Dove deodorant and Dove Body Wash in bulk, Baby Dove Wash for Micah and Dove Beauty Bars for the Mister. Yeah, I like Dove. Also got some lotion for me and the hubster so we’re not ashy in the house!

Hair Dryer

Despite the fact that I already have one that I love, I wanted to try this Revlon One-Step to see what the fuss was about. Plus I don’t know what happened to my comb attachment and this would be clutch!

Home Essentials

Storage Ottoman

If we have to stay home, I’m gonna make sure it’s “stay-homeable”! I’ve needed to replace the ottoman we had when we first moved in for the longest. With my back issues, I often need to put my feet up to feel comfy. So until I can afford the one I really want, I picked up this one. It’s much smaller than I expected (I totally didn’t notice the dimensions!) but it’ll do for now.

Blinds

What we had were cheap, old and falling apart. At about $6 or $7 at a discount store, I was asking for it. My husband always tells me, “you get what you pay for” but I never learn! LOL! So at about 4x what I paid for the old ones, these are an upgrade … no more awkward string to maneuver or unevenness. Just push it up and pull it down. Revolutionary!

Plastic Countertop Drawer Storage Station

This was some of the best money I’ve spent during quarantine! In trying to keep ourselves from getting sick, I bought a few types of teas. I came up with a stacking solution to keep them handy on the counter, but I thought there must be a better way. Maybe there’s a container that would do this for me. TADA!! This plastic drawer situation is super convenient, streamlined and pretty! I got a pack of two and use the other one in my bedroom for jewelry and other essentials. You can use it for literally anything!

Garbage Can

I got this giant can to replace our broken (& cheap) one but the problem is, we haven’t been using it much! I realize it takes a while for our little family to fill a can this size. So in all that time, especially in the summer, it’s attracting flies and things and I’m not about that! We’re just using a little bag in the meantime which means we may go back to a smaller one like this or this. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great can, just not for us.

Other Little Things

Lights bulbs, fabric softener and sticky wall hooks. We needed ’em, I got ’em!

Homeschool

We decided on homeschool for Micah, who’s five, a long time ago and it’s been working out great. He’s already gone through this Pre-K book, this Kindegarten edition and is currently getting through this math book. We just got this First Grade workbook for him to start working on afterwards along with this new math book. He’s so smart! #proudmommy

We bought Micah’s desk pre-COVID (note: we only paid $140, it’s now $270!), but here’s a similar option that has a couple more features if you’re in need!

Treats

Wooden Train Set

Since Micah is homeschooled and an only child, he’s pretty used to playing alone (or with us!) with the occasional play date. But with the pandemic, play dates have halted. So hubby wanted to add to Micah’s current track set with another one so he could have more “adventures” during this time and fill his love for trains.

Floral Blazer via The Drop

I couldn’t NOT get myself a little something! I’ve seen a few influencers come out with their own curated clothing line via The Drop but I didn’t particularly care nearly as much as when Blake – aka @signedblake – announced her own! I set the text notification and was ON IT! Low key, I wanted it all… but it came down to either the maxi dress or the blazer-dress, couldn’t do both. The blazer-dress won out cuz I think I can do more with it (plus I already have a very similar dress to the maxi). It arrived on Monday!!! *cartwheels* You can catch me trying it on and styling it in my IG Stories from last night!

Wheewwww okay, dassit! Everything I bought from Amazon during lockdown aka quarantine aka ‘Rona. I am beyond thankful that amazon is a thing! Where would we be right now without it? I shudder to think!

Tell me about YOUR Amazon purchases below… I know you’ve made at least one!
