first, I mist some water around my head to help reactivate the product already on my hair.I apply a bit of gel on my edges.
lightly misting with water helps moisten the gel already on my hair from my initial styling & will prevent the hair from flaking when I brush it.
then I gently brush it in & closely follow with my hand to smooth it down.if I find any dry spots, I add a bit more water.
I also add a little more gel to that area to freshen it up and then continue to brush and smooth the rest of the hair.
any areas that are not quite laying, take a small bit of gel and smooth it down.I like to use the tail of my rattail comb at this point...
and use it to smooth the hair underneath the bun area so it looks more "snatched" and neat.this will prevent you from adding anymore pins to maintain the neatness.
sometimes I will dip the tail of the comb into the tub of gel and do the same smoothing motion to hold the hair down.and that's it! now I'm gonna tie my hair down...
normally, having the hair tied down for about 15-20 minutes is good enough to allow the hair to fully set if I'm going out.an overnight set gives the best results!
I fold my large square scarf in half diagonally to form a triangle. I place the wide end on the back of my head, bring the ends to the front & tie.bring to the back, tie again & adjust.
for some added smoothing to the back, I put another smaller scarf on top and tie tight enough to where it's secure but not giving me a headache.
after an hour (I got busy! LOL!) I take both scarves off & admire the final look!every hair is in place & it looks like the first day I did the style!
look at these results! It may even look BETTER than when I first did it!see more of my natural hair style ideas on my YouTube channel below
