GRWM: Kinky Hair Blowout + Twist-Out

to start, I like to layer a leave-in conditioner & some type of butter or oil to prep for a blowout. after applying the products, I work it all in with a brush.

using the "tension method", I hold the ends of my hair taut & go over it with my blow dryer. after a few passes I go in with the brush to make sure it's smooth.

for hold, I apply some wrap lotion to the hair and proceed to twist the hair down, making sure the twist is nice & firm, not loose.

as I get almost to the ends, I add a bit more wrap lotion and continue to twist. to finish it off, I twirl the very ends around my finger.

I continue the process throughout the rest of my hair, section by section: add product, brush through, blow dry, add styler and twist.

I like to make sure the ends are smoothed through with the detangling brush so that they're manageable and not poofy in the final look.

now that all the twists are done, I apply some oil to my scalp and thoroughly massage it in. this helps stimulate the hair follicles to promote healthy growth.

all done with twisting! I made each twist about "medium" size... a bit smaller than I usually do for a little more definition. I ended up with about 12 twists.

and now, the takedown! I carefully undo each twist & separate about 2 or 3 times, depending on the size of the section. I'm careful to only do so where the hair naturally separates as I hold the hair out.

FINAL LOOK!

as you can see, I'm in love with the results! it looked perfect on-screen for my podcast interview and the interviewer loved it!

and here it is the next day after refreshing a bit the night before. loving the definition, bounce & shine!
