braids & twists
a protective style like twists or braids is probably the best route. you can wear it for a couple months as your hair grows out & you can still cleanse & moisturize!
twist-outs/braid-outs
the idea is to camouflage the new growth for a seamless look. twist-outs & braid-outs combine the two textures to make them appear to be one.
rod sets
wrapping the new growth around flexi or perm rods with the right amount of tension stretches it out for a curl that will nicely blend in with your ends.
twist & curl
this is a variation of the twist-out & an alternate way to do a rod set where you twist before adding the rod. twisting the hair first makes curling on rods a bit easier.
cornrows
cornrows are another protective option to let your hair rest while growing out. do a full head of cornrows or add a few to accent a twist-out or braid-out.
low ponytail
with some gel & a good brush, you can slick your hair back & attach a curly hair piece for a cute, natural-looking style! this was a go-to in my transitioning days.
straightening
straightening also blends the two textures. but if your aim is to wear healthy textured hair, limiting heat is best. so this is good for once in a while.
