Howdy y’all!
Ouidad sent over some new goodies for me to try out and share what I thought with you lovely people. So… let’s get to it!
Curl Recovery Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil (Sulfate-Free)- 8.5 fl. oz. $25 {Dry, Damaged Textures}
Claim: Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil is a foaming, water-activated cleanser with an advanced oil base that gently removes dirt and build-up while restoring essential moisture. Our proprietary CR-4 Repair Complex™ – including nutrient-rich Mafura Butter and Kalahari Melon Seed Oil – envelopes the hair shaft with a cushion-like coating of concentrated fatty acids that are vital to rebuilding, nourishing and protecting hair in need of repair. Silk proteins and coconut oils bind to the cuticle to sustain hydration and resist damage while enhancing body and shine.
SULFATE-FREE & PARABEN-FREE.
I first applied the Cleansing Oil to my scalp, gently massaging with my fingertips creating a light lather or foam and then raked a bit more of it through the length of my hair. I noticed that I didn’t really need a whole lot for my entire head of thick hair so this will definitely last me a while. What amazed me even more was how easily my fingers were able to glide through my tight coils and kinks. A cleanser with lots of slip?! Yes please!
For you gals wondering about the scent, the Cleansing Oil has a very pleasant, light floral fragrance… quite soothing. Loved it! I’m happy to say that while my hair and scalp felt super clean and refreshed, it did not feel stripped whatsoever but soft and moisturized. So much so that I thought I may not even need the conditioner!
Grade: A+
Curl Recovery Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner & Styling Primer- 8.5 fl. oz. $26 {All Textures}
Claim: Whipped Curls is a thick, dense daily conditioner that’s so luxurious it delights at first touch. Its rich, sensorial texture glides on hair and envelopes curls in deeply hydrating nutrients to elevate the moisture factor within the hair cuticle. Our triple Olive Oil blend combined with Shea Butter and Glycerin deeply moisturize, nourish and strengthen curls while smoothing frizz and enhancing shine. As a “styling primer,” its lavish, silky formula creates the perfect canvas by re-establishing your natural curl pattern for easy styling with any gel or cream. Green Tea Extract provides antioxidant and environmental protection to maintain luscious, healthy-looking, head-turning curls all day long. This dual-purpose formula is great for all curls, especially those experiencing dryness, frizz and breakage.
From the packaging, you may think you’re getting a product of a mousse-like consistency but it’s actually more of a cream- very rich and smooth to the touch. And the smell?! Fugheddaboudit! Uh-Mazing! The scent is similar to Ouidad’s Mongongo Oil which is reminiscent of… yes, I’m gonna go with cotton candy. Yummy!!
As noted by the name, you can either use this daily by applying to wet hair and washing out after about 5 minutes or by applying it to damp hair and styling as usual. Since I’m not a ‘wash & go’ kind of girl -not yet anyways- nor do I wash my hair daily, I figured I meet ‘em in the middle by rinsing out most of the product after about 10 minutes. As if my hair could feel any more moisturized, this conditioner gave me that extra oomph and had me rethinking the whole ‘wash & go’ idea. Curls were POPPIN’!
Grade: A
In a nutshell, I loved both products and would definitely recommend them, especially now during the colder months when the air is drier and moisture becomes even more important. Click the links below for ingredients and to try it out for yourself! ^_^

LOL! Understandable. My hair loves all of the products I’ve tried from this brand so far. They have frequent sales and deals though, so if you sign up for their mailing list you’ll get the scoop. If you get the combo, it’s $40 🙂 http://www.ouidad.com/Curl-Recovery-Duo
