Between the weather and pregnancy, I wasn’t able to do much this NYFW. But, thanks to my friends at SoftSheen-Carson/Amla Legend, I had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Edwing D’Angelo show for the third season in a row. Here’s how it went down.
The SoftSheen-Carson Style Squad headed by lead celebrity hairstylists Derick Monroe (top) and Eric Bland transformed slightly textured blonde wigs into cute banged bobs for the show. Styling products from the Amla Legend line were used to give the coifs their finishing touches.
While backstage, I noticed this wig with some awesome side swoop action happening… nothing like what any of the other girls were already wearing. Who was going to don this hair? Oh, the curiosity.
I’d soon get my answer when model Nicole Murphy walked through the door, looking just as beautiful in person as she does on screen, if not more! After a few pics with fans, she was whisked away to a styling chair to get dolled up and prepped for the runway.
I snapped shots of a couple styles that would hit the floor since I wasn’t sure if the makeup of the venue would allow me to capture the images I wanted.
Debuting at this show would be the Edwing D’Angelo shoe: a black leather high top for men and a cute wedge-heeled version for the ladies (which should be coming soon). I’d TOTALLY rock these!
Check out some of the beautiful designs grabbed from the Edwing D’Angelo Instagram page…
One of you will win three full-sized Alma Legend styling products:
- Treasured Temple Edge Tamer (great for a smooth, medium hold when slicking back buns or just controlling frizz around your edges)
- Enchanted Finish Hold + Polishing Spray (I love using this to top off updos and even twist-outs or braid-outs for hold, shine and a great scent!)
- Rejuvenating Oil (fabulous as a sealant and to also give the hair shine without being overly greasy)
Simply follow the directions below to enter! I’ll be running this giveaway for one week. Ready. Set. GO!
I would create a banging bun

Another one of my go-tos! The products would definitely help keep the hair shiny without weighing it down.
Using the Alma products i would create a Mohawk
I’m very curious to try these products. I love wearing vintage pinup styles with my natural texture, but these products would be great to use on a blow out to create a nice, smooth, sulpted, yet moisturized look with victory rolls. I’d definitely give it a shot.
I would do a combination of a twist out and bantu-knot out for an optimum curl!

I was waiting for you Latoya! LOL! I know that would look fab on you! And you’ll get great shine from the oil especially.
I would try comb coils.
Author
Nice idea! The Finishing Spray will give you a nice hold & shine for your coils!
Using the Alma products i would create a nice flat twist updo and section the front to do two strand twists and roll and pin curl the twists and the end of the flat twists.
Sorry typo Amla

Haha! No prob.
That style sounds really cute! The Edge Tamer will work nice to slick those flat twists and the other stylers will give the rest of the do a good hold and shine to finish. Great!
I’d love to do a beautiful crown braid.

I’ve gotta try one of those one day. I think they’re so pretty and regal!
I would do a simple textured afro puff, using the spray to make sure that my ends are sealed after I take down my twists and the tamer for sleek edges and “baby hair”.

Puffs are great! Simple and cute. Great style choice! 😉

I would rock a real nice Fro with one side pinned up a little.

I used to rock that style a lot! Love it. 🙂
Yes!! That is my go to hairstyle!
I would love to try the edge tamer on my hair for smoothed down edges and an infinity twist
Author
Oooh, that sounds lovely!
I would do an amazing dry twist out, leaving a lot of body for my thick hair.

Love the shoes!

Appreciate the comment. 🙂 But I wanted to know what style you would try with the products.
Sorry, I commented before checking out the giveaway! I’d go with a simple high puff on a braid out… I think the edge tamer would help give it a nice, polished look.
