Hey my peoples! Welp, after all the back and forth about what I was gonna do with this hair of mine, I finally settled on doing Marley Twists and I am SO excited to start styling these babies!
I have a how-to video on the way but I know some of you may have some questions about the process so I’ve put this together for ya…
How long did it take you? Well, I had a whole lot goin’ on so it wound up taking parts of two days.
Hair used: Afro Marley Braid by Janet Collection
Number of packs: Hard to say. I bought three fresh packs of hair but also washed & reused some leftover hair that I’ve had for a while which I’ve used for updos as well as my last set of twists. The old hair would probably make up about four packs so I’d say maybe seven total.
Hair color: 1B
How many strands per twist? Three. I wanted ’em pretty thick!
Method: The “invisible roots” method also known as the “twist-from-the-root” method.
Tutorial? I recorded myself installing my friend’s twists a few months ago but have yet to edit and put it up. I used the same method so I didn’t feel the need to record this time around. ^_^ I’ll try to edit it and have it up for you guys within the next few days.
Products used: Nene’s Secret L.I.C. (leave-in cond.) and JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) to seal.
Did you blow dry or stretch the hair before? Nope. I usually do at least stretch my hair by plaiting it but I was being lazy. I just wanted to get these things in! I had to detangle as I went which made the process a bit longer, of course.
That’s all I have for now, loves. Please feel free to post any other questions you may have below and I’ll do my best to answer them. I’ll be covering more with regard to care and maintenance in the upcoming video so stay tuned! 😉
xoxo

I’m definitely a lazy natural so I didn’t really do just real blow drying or stretching on my hair to prep them for marley twists! Your twists are beautiful!
Thanks and thanks so much for following the blog!
