Last week, I made my way over to EDEN BodyWorks’ #StyleWithEDEN NYFW presentation which blended style and beauty. Naturally, I wanted to show off my personal style too! Here’s what I came up with… after about five outfit changes.
Shirt – Gap (similar) | Tube Top – H&M (similar)| Skirt – Thrifted (cute African print option) | Belt – Banana Republic (similar) | Bag – Gap | Sandals – H&M (VERY similar Steve Madden) | Bracelet – H&M (love this set!)
Because it was New York Fashion Week, I had to resist the urge to just throw on the same ole jeans and a shirt and fix myself up! This approximately three year-old tube top still had the tags on it. Crazy, right?
Thinking how I could finally wear it and be worthy of these NYFW streets, I thought I’d go semi-wild and mix it up with this thrifted pleated vintage skirt to bring out the navy in the stripes. The cinched denim button-down would help “blend” it all together.
Considering it was still summer with a fall chill coming as the night went on, I think I nailed “transitional weather chic”!
Mission accomplished! Prints are successfully mixed without me feeling uncomfortable and I look fairly decent. Yay me!
Are you a fan of mixing prints? Or are you nervous (like I tend to be) about getting the look all wrong?’
