Hey people!
So, yes, ya girl repped for the NY in the DMV for International Natural Hair Meetup Day (INHMD). Well, what had happened was… I was actin’ like I had all the time in the world to get a ticket so by the time I got good and ready to do so, the NY events were all sold out! π Welp, no big deal. This was the perfect opportunity to hop on a bus and head on down to Virginia to support Pamela of Koils by Nature and finally see celeb stylist Felicia Leatherwood in action at her Loving Your Hair With Natural Care Workshop (did you catch my interview?). I had also learned that Miss INHMD herself Adeea Rogers would be in the house so DMV, here I come!
I was greeted with smiles and a hefty goodie bag which was loaded down even more with two FULL-SIZED products! Hey now! So, the day was very well organized with time slots set out for each portion of the event. We began with Felicia’s workshop where she was super down-to-earth, breaking down hair textures and offering eye-opening tips as various questions were thrown at her by the audience.
Our host for the day was radio host and comedian Ardell Boatwright who had us in stitches throughout the entire event and Pamela cracked me up more than once, too funny! I mean… homegirl broke out in song at one point! HA!!
The giveaways… OHHHH the giveaways!
The next room over was packed with vendors galore: hair goodies, earrings, necklaces, tee shirts, soaps, natural deodorant, skin care, hair care/styling…something for everyone!
Unfortunately, I had to leave about an hour before the event ended to catch my bus back to NY but I had an amazing day with the DMV crew. Shoutout to Adeea, Pamela and Felicia for an awesome event!

It looks like this was a nice event! I have yet to attend a natural hair meet up. Let me know, if you don’t mind, when there is another in the DMV! π
There’s actually one this Saturday in DC! I usually post events on my FB page but especially Instagram. I have a lot of girlfriends in the DMV so I’m always on the lookout for them. Here’s the link: http://www.blackhairkitchen.com/expo/
Oh wow! This weekend. My schedule is tight already but I’m gonna see what I can do. ::running to find your Instagram and to look at the website:: thanks so much!!
