Step onto the train, headed home. I caught the stare of a lady with locs sitting across from where I was standing. She started mouthing something to me (whilst some Beyonce song was bumping in my ears), giving me a “thumbs up”, gesturing towards her own hair. I figured out she was saying she liked mine (a bun of consisting of Marley braiding hair). Now wait. She should talk! Shoot. HERRRR locs were GORGEOUSLY styled in some kinda knotted, twisted, criss-crossed bun-type… Ok. Let’s just say it was BEAUTIFUL! I told her so. She thanked me. I went back to my corner…and Beyonce.

Just when I thought that was the end of it, she comes over and asks to take some pics of my hair, “now that’s what you call art!” she explains. 0_0 PUH! Again, I’m thinkin’, “how could this bun compare to the masterpiece I’M lookin’ at right now?!” Well, she got out her iPhone and proceeded to take pics. Yup, on a train full o’ folks. LOL! A fellow commuter next to me was smiling at our “moment” and graciously stepped to the side so we could get our mini photo session on. She then showed me some of her work, flipping through her cell’s photo gallery. We exchange cards. But wait… duh, why didn’t I get some pics of HER hair?! (-__-) Whomp whomp. Talk about #fail. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant exchange between Shakilla and I, I must say.

Ummm, I’ve never bonded THIS much with complete strangers over hair as I have since going natural. This is crazy! LOL Good, crazy. 😀
