I’m Toia, a fun-loving, millennial-adjacent native of Barbados, W.I., a Brooklyn girl and natural hair enthusiast with a flair for fashion. I am also wife to a loving husband of twelve years and mom to a beautiful little boy!

My love for hair started at a very young age when I’d watch the stylists at the local salons that my mom and I visited regularly. Between acquiring my License in Cosmetology in 2004 and embracing my natural hair texture in 2009, I was driven to learn about the hair I was born with, inspire others and share what I’ve learned on my journey.

This platform all began as an extension of my Facebook fan page, then called “Toia’s Natural Hair Affair”, where I’d track my natural hair journey and share inspirational photos. This gave birth to the social platform“ToBNatural” (an amalgam of my first name and last initial attached to the word “natural”).

After writing weekly hair tips on Tumblr for some time, I launched LuvToBNatural.com in August 2012 to share my love of all things natural hair with fashion sprinkled in.  The site has since transitioned into the lifestyle blog ToiaBarry.com where I share life as a stay-at-home work-at-home mom along with all the hair care, beauty and fashion tips my readers have come to love.
