When I was young and spry, I used to switch up my hair every single week. I absolutely love styling hair and experimenting with different looks! But, needless to say, as a busy mom of a toddler in 2018, things have changed. I need styles that are fairly simple to do and won’t take a lot of time. Variations of this hair style have been a staple over the past three years.
If you’ve got a little one heading back to school, you too may have a limited amount of time to take care of your own hair let alone theirs. So, I thought this quick protective style might actually come in handy for you moms (and dads… yep, I see you!) who need inspiration for something easy peasy to get you and your kids out the door fast. I know some in certain states may have already started school but this style can still be a go-to if you’re at a loss for ideas throughout the school year!
Here’s all you’ll need:
- a couple ponytail holders
- a few hair pins/bobby pins
- some edge control (if you like)
- brush
I started the style off by lightly blowing my hair out using my old faithful blow dryer. But if you’d rather keep your child’s hair free from heat right now, by all means use whatever stretching method works best for you. If they’ve got the length, you may choose not to stretch at all! π Watch how little time this style takes!
Think you’ll give this back-to-school hair style a try on your little princess heading back to school… or maybe yourself? What other types of styles would you like to see a tutorial on?
Love the look Toia! What do you think of the Remington hair dryers? I am currently using the Drybar Buttercup and love it.

Thanks! I’ve had my Remington dryer for years, no complaints. π
