during this transition, moisture can make or break the success of your process. proper moisture keeps the hair manageable as the new growth is nourished & softened. using a sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo, deep conditioning & layering products to seal in moisture are key!

you'll be dealing with two very different textures, so the care will be different from what you're used to. the point where the textures meet are most fragile. a wide tooth comb or special detangling brush will help you gently get thru tangles. dividing the hair into sections for washing will help prevent matting & knots.

low manipulation styles are best while transitioning. braid-outs & rod sets will help blend the textures, last a week or so & can help you learn your texture. straightening also blends the textures but you can risk damage of the new growth. use heat a protectant if you do this. protective styles are your best bet.
