Recently, I shared with you my fall 2016 style wish list which featured traditional autumn tones. But with all the grays, browns, blacks, and tans, sometimes dressing for fall can become a little… ho-hum. I, on the other hand, enjoy a bit of color (okay, a lot of color) in my wardrobe, even during cooler weather.
Not only does a dash of vibrancy break up a monochromatic ensemble, but it also has a way of lifting one’s spirits. Besides, the last thing I want is an uninspired outfit. So, in order to nip that in the bud, I’ve done a little digging and found some serious seasonal must-haves with a nice touch of color. These are splurge-worthy selections, but ones that definitely won’t disappoint.
Grass Green
I love a nice, basic v-neck sweater, so when I find one that’s also vibrant and colorful, it has to get a spot on my list. This J. Crew ($264) sweater is the perfect shade of green, made from soft Italian cashmere, and would look great worn for work or play. Check out this cute, budget-friendly batwing sleeve option here!
Cobalt Blue
The Editors at Fashionisers know all about the “it” colors for fall, and shades of blue, particularly very saturated ones, are all over that list. These Sonia Rykiel ($99) trousers are my interpretation for the season, and I think they would work well with a colorful sweater, neutral coat, and ankle booties. If you love the look, here’s a similar pair for about half the price!
Orange
These clay colored stilettos from Kendall + Kylie ($69) fit right in with the trend predictions from Refinery29’s fashion crew. I like these for several reasons. They’re closed toe, which is great for fall, plus they’d look great with jeans and skirts for weekend wear, or with professional clothes for the office. I could totally wear these first three items together!
Mint Green
Nowadays, carrying a backpack around town is what it’s all about and this mint green Matt & Nat bag ($99) fits right in with the trend. Since having a baby boy, keeping my hands free is a must. This modern backpack is a refreshing style and fun color for casual fall outfits. But if you’re more into the classic style, try this one!
Blush Pink
These shoes are blushing, and not because you just paid them a compliment *tee-hee*. Lyst’s team of style experts predict that statement sneakers are in for fall, and I think these shoes from Common Projects ($355) fit the bill perfectly. Clad in Pantone’s color of the year, rose quartz, these dusty pink trainers would add a great touch to casual outfits, like distressed skinny jeans and cozy sweaters. This sleek pair from Puma are equally as cool at a fraction of the cost.
Now that you’ve been acquainted with my picks, tell me about yours!

Aren’t they amazing?! Of course, since gaining weight after having the baby, nothing is exactly “skinny” on me anymore LOL! But I will definitely try and rock ’em somehow. 😉
