The tassel trend has definitely been around for a minute but it seems to me that this summer, it really came full blast, no?
When I first started seeing a bunch of tassel this and that (mostly in the form of footwear), while I did think tassels were cute, I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about wearing them. You’ve probably caught on by now that, for the most part, I keep things pretty tame. But I’ve been slowly stepping out of my comfort zone and getting a little crazy — for me — with my style choices.
If you’re looking to get in on the trend, lemme show you three simple AND affordable ways you can wear the tassel trend to fit your comfort level.
On Your Feet
As I said, this is where you might see this trend the most. Two summers ago, I started with a simple pair of sandals (previously seen here) with just two tassels… didn’t wanna overwhelm myself! LOL! I couldn’t get enough of these things! Since they are two years old, they’re no longer available at Rainbow but I found a VERY similar pair for you here! They work great with skirts (maxi or midi) or a pair of cuffed jeans.
Last year, I went way out and got ALL THE TASSELS with these ShoeDazzle sandals. I was super skeptical about gettin’ these, thinking, “LAWD, what am I gonna wear these with?!” Surprisingly, I’ve been able to rock ’em with a number of different outfits from jeans to Bermuda shorts to midi skirts — super versatile. On Your Purse
This vintage leather Gap bag that I’ve owned for ages gives a slight tassel detail on the zipper. This is great option if you want to enjoy the tassel trend but prefer to keep things more on the simple side. I wear this bag everywhere — EV-ER-Y-WHERE — and with anything! That’s the beauty in its simplicity.
